  12.         Houston-based Lifeco Services Corporation has been
  13. awarded the travel management contract for the Jet Propulsion
  14. Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif.
  15.         Under terms of the one- to five-year contract,
  16. Lifeco will provide travel management services for employees
  17. at JPL facilities in Pasadena and at JPL sites in Washington,
  18. D.C., Reston, Virginia and Cape Canaveral, Florida.
  19.         JPL is a federally-funded research and development
  20. organization operated by the California Institute of
  21. Technology under a contract to the National Aeronautics and
  22. Space Administration (NASA).  The Laboratory primarily
  23. conducts unmanned scientific spacecraft missions to explore
  24. the solar system for NASA.  
  25.         In the past year, JPL has conducted the Voyager
  26. spacecraft flyby of Neptune, launched the Magellan probe to
  27. Venus, and launched another interplanetary spacecraft,
  28. Galileo, on a mission to Jupiter.
